The DDC dance crew, winners of the World Breakdance Championship, perform to the sound of Mozart’s classical masterpieces in a one-of-a-kind show that has sold out venues all across Europe. Bold and unpredictable, Breakin’ Mozart—after hundreds of sold-out performances in Berlin with over 100,000 spectators, and countless shows throughout Europe—is coming to captivate audiences young and old with its original choreography and magnificent music.
The outstanding dancers deliver signature Urban Dance moves with stunning precision and beauty, blending music, dance, and acrobatics at the highest level.
Mozart’s works are performed live on piano and in orchestral arrangements, infused with modern hip-hop remixes and powerful techno beats.
And then… the unexpected fusion of classical music and street dance creates an explosive spectacle!
BIOGRAPHIES
Christoph Hagel
Conductor and director Christoph Hagel studied under the guidance of Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celibidache, among others. He is especially known for his originality in presenting classical works in unconventional venues and is considered one of Germany’s leading figures in the crossover genre. His major opera productions are a vital part of Berlin’s cultural life and have gained international media recognition—such as The Magic Flute in the subway, Orpheus and Eurydice at the Bode Museum, the dance interpretation of St. John Passion, and the staged Christmas Oratorio at the Berlin Cathedral.
For his production Flying Bach, he received the prestigious Echo Award and toured the world with the show in over 40 countries. Following Flying Bach, three more urban dance productions by Christoph Hagel became international successes: Breakin’ Mozart (2013), Beethoven! The Next Level (2016), and Fuck You Wagner! (2016).
Dancefloor Destruction Crew – DDC
DDC is one of the world’s leading breakdance crews. They are German and European champions and two-time World Breakdance Champions. In 2013, DDC was awarded the title “Europe’s Best Show.”
Over the past years, the group has impressed audiences with their unique breakdance and hip-hop style. They are regular performers on the popular Saturday night TV show on ARD with their new act Breakdance in Leather Pants, and have quickly won the hearts of millions.
