BIOGRAPHY – PANAGIOTIS TROHOPOULOS

Born in November 1982 in Veria, Greece, Panagiotis Trohopoulos is a Greek virtuoso pianist and a student of the legendary Nikolai Petrov. He graduated with distinction from the Moscow Conservatory in 2006. He has performed in major concert halls and international festivals, delivering exemplary interpretations of some of the most demanding works of the piano repertoire—such as Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto, Brahms’ Second Concerto, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in a special concert marking Croatia’s accession to NATO.

His recordings for Cameo Classics have received rave reviews from the most prestigious classical music magazines. At the Moscow House of Music, Trohopoulos was featured as one of the “Rising Stars of the Russian Piano School,” where he also gave the Russian premiere of the incredibly demanding Concerto for Solo Piano by Alkan.

On May 30, 2024, he performed with great success at the Athens Concert Hall with the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Byron Fidetzis, presenting the epic Piano Concerto by Ferruccio Busoni—a feat achieved by very few pianists worldwide.
