BIOGRAPHY
Andreas Kotsiopoulos was born in 1997 and began studying piano at an early age. He attended the Hellenic Conservatory, where he studied under Agathi Leimoni and completed his diploma with the highest distinction, receiving First Prize and a Gold Medal. He pursued advanced piano studies at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, earning both the Diplôme de Cycle Supérieur and the Diplôme de Virtuosité with highest honors and the unanimous commendation of the jury. He is currently continuing his studies in the Perfectionnement cycle. Alongside his piano education, he studied Harmony and Counterpoint under Dimitris Lionis and Giorgos Aravidis, obtaining a Harmony degree with top honors. He has participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned professors including: Aquiles delle Vigne, Y. Admony, Y. Bogdanov, R. Boldorini, L. Boyadjieva, D. Chefanov, S. Chu, C. Constantini, P. Francese, D. Petralia, I. Petrin, M. Pliassova, P. Raskin, R. Salinas, S. Senkov, B. Taneva, and M. Wladkowski. He studied at the Department of Theory and History of Art at the Athens School of Fine Arts and at the Department of Music Studies at the University of Athens. Andreas has been recognized in various competitions, most recently winning First Prize (out of competition) at the “Piano Magic” competition with the highest score awarded. He has worked as a répétiteur with singers of the Greek National Opera and collaborated with pianists on works by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. He has performed extensively in Greece and abroad, including appearances at the Athens Concert Hall, the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, and the d’Ursel Castle in Antwerp. He has collaborated multiple times with the Sinfonietta Orchestra of Athens in works by Bach and Mozart. Most recently, he performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Razgrad Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Ivan Stoyanov. He has also recorded works by Chopin and Rachmaninoff for Greek National Radio.
